Hello all,
Thank you for registering for the blog.
This week we will be working on your research papers but I would also like to get to know you all a bit better. Please write three paragraphs describing yourself. The first paragraph should tell me about where you are from and why you are at HIS. The second paragraph will describe who you are academically; mention weaknesses and strengths, likes and dislikes. The third paragraph paints a picture of who you are as a person. What do you like to do? What are you interested in? What do you want to do in the future?
This assignment must be posted by Wednesday, August 25th by 12:00 a.m.
Best of luck!
Mr. Phillips

ReplyDeleteMy name is Janet Choi in 9th Grade, and I came from Seoul, Korea. I came to HIS when I was in 7th Grade, and this is my third year here. I came here because of my mother's job, and I thought studying at HIS would be a great opportunity for me to improve my English ability. I am planning to go back to Korea after finishing this year.
ReplyDeleteDrawing is what I like most, and my strongest subject is Art. I also like History and Literature very much. My weak subjects are science and math. I am also interested in Computer Applications although I haven't taken any similar classes before.
I love reading and drawing, and I also like listening to music, although I do not like singing. Badminton is my favorite sport. I am very much interested in taking photographs, writing stories and taking leadership roles. I want to be a doctor or teacher when I grow up, and I also want to travel around the world.
I'm an 8th grader right now and I come from Peru. I was born in Japan, because my parents came here to do there masters at Hokkaido University. I joined HIS when I was in 1st grade.
ReplyDeleteI like practically all the classes at school (although maybe I'm not good at it). Math is my strongest point. Sometimes I have a few problems with literature but, they are minor problems. Also like Janet I7m not much of a singer.
Everything about me is kind of childish. As my hobby I collect Lego sets and put them in battle formation or something. My favorite spot is basketball. My dream is to become a professional formula 1 driver, scientist, or an architect.

ReplyDeleteI was born in Hokkaido japan, my moms japaneze and my dads a newzealander.

My favorite sport is soccer and paint ball. Also doge ball. My dream is to be a history professor or a military engineer or a architect or work in the lego block company to design new stuff.
My name is Milan Dotiyal, I am currently and 9th grader in this school. I've been here for pretty long I can say about my whole school life. I was born here in Sapporo and I enrolled in this school since I'm not full Japanese, and my parents wanted to give me a chance to learn English.
ReplyDeleteSpecifically, I do not have a subject I dislike, but I could say my weak subject is math and possibly, Literature. The subjects I'm strong at are probably Science and History. (depends on what we do) .
My future isn't really clear, I would love to graduate school, and go to college, and after that maybe I can have a job that relates to music, acting or any other thing I personally enjoy. Also, I would love to get out of Japan and explore the world.
My name is Amy Young. I am in 7th grade and am eleven years old. My birthday is coming up soon. It is September 1st. I I was born in New Jersey 1998. I was in America for 2 years then moved to Tokyo. When I was 8 I started attending HIS. I met so many new friends and loved my new school.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subjects would be Choir and Drama. All my teachers are very nice. I dislike science, and my weak point is math.
In the future, I would like to be a singer and an actress. I take singing lessons with my brother and enjoy it very much. I hope I am succesful.
My name is Kai Izumi, I was a born in Norway, I'm half Japanese and half Norwegian, I'm a 8th Grader, and I was new to this school last year when i was in grade 7. I grew up in Zimbabwe since i was 2 but then i left to Italy when i was 9, and from there my family didn't like living there. So we moved to Sapporo cause this is where my family is and where i can learn more about Japan, and Japanese language and culture.
ReplyDeleteMy weak spot in academic studies would be Japanese and possibly math, but I'm believe I'm quite well at taking notes and group work, history, and literature
I enjoy sports of many catagories, because of all the countries I've been to and the sports that the countries play, but i would say, I enjoy rugby, soccer, basket ball and many others that i can't quite remember. I hope to be an athlete of any of the sport that I enjoy, but i also hope to be an actor or singer, but if i can't for fill those dreams, I'll just join the Norwegian army.
Welcome to HIS, and i hope you enjoy your time here and hope you'll have a good time with us students for your class

ReplyDeleteMy name is Andrew, but most people like to call me Andy. I am currently into the 9th grade. I have been attending HIS since 6th grade, so this is my 4th year in this school. I was born in Tokyo and I enjoy going to HIS. My favorite sport is basketball, and one of my favorite hobbies is singing. I love to listen to music.
ReplyDeleteI like pretty much any subject in school, but I sometimes struggle in Math. I enjoy English class, and so it's probably my favorite class. There isn't really any class that I don't like, but a class a struggle with is Art, mainly because I am not artistic, and i can't draw.
In the future, I would like to go attend in the University of Emerson, in America. The reason is becuase in the future, I would like to record music, and become a R&B singer, and songwriter. Like my sister said, I take vocal lessons with her, and enjoyed it very much. Singing is a very hard thing, but I love it, and I will work hard on my life goal.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Lisa Shimazaki, and some people call me Lisa Shima because there are a lot of Lisa’s in this school. I’m currently in 9th grade and I was born in Sapporo, Japan, which is here. I have been in HIS since pre-school, so this is my twelfth year at this school. I don’t really know why I’m in HIS...but I guess I’m in this school because my parent’s enrolled me here.
ReplyDeleteThe subject I enjoy the most is Math. I like reading, but I am not really good at writing, so I sometimes like Literature. Science and History are not too bad when I have had a good night’s sleep the day before (so I don’t get sleepy). I don’t really like P.E. since a lot of sports we do includes a ball, and ball’s don’t go the right direction if I’m around. However, I do like gymnastics, because it doesn’t include a ball.
I play the violin and the piano, though I’m not a good player. I don’t really know what I want to do for the future, but I wish to graduate from a good college, and have a great career. I would also like to live in Australia if it is possible.
My name is Louis Wright, and I've lived in Sapporo for my whole life. My dad is British and my mom is Japanese which makes me a half. I started to go to HIS when I was in Kindergarten, since my older sister who graduated last year was going to school here as well, and in fact, this was the only English education I could get in Hokkaido. Though I am british, I speak in a sort of an American accent, and I haven't been to England that much.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I might not enjoy some school subjects, but I pretty much try to do my best in my classes. My favorite subject would be choir, and I might not enjoy history sometimes. I might no be very keen on drawing beautiful pictures, but let's look on the positive side: I enjoy choir, because I simply love singing and music.
I seem to be on the quiet side sometimes, but when I get to know people I get louder. As I said, I love music and singing, and I play many instruments, like the guitar, piano, drums, and the electone. I also enjoy composing music on GarageBand as well. I am completely into Michael Jackson's music, and I hope you won't mind me singing his songs in class sometimes... My favorite sports are MTB and skiing. If I could, I'd love to do a job relating to music, but the world of music is a very tough world to enter, so I might stick to it as a hobby.
Hello, I'm Zen. I'm a ninth grader and full Japanese. I came to this school 11 years ago with my whole family, from Singapore where I was born. My father teaches choir, so I think it was because of this that I joined this school. Currently, my father, my sister and my little brother go to this school and my mom teaches piano on wednesdays and thursdays here (my eldest sister graduated recently from H.I.S., and my older brother is in Tokyo). Yes, I have a big family.
ReplyDeleteI like history and literature. I also love singing, which was probably an influence from my father. Art is also nice. I like math and science, but I don't do so well on it. I guess numbers are not my thing.
I am quite independant, and don't prefer to be in large groups. My friends and I are peaceful people and we don't get into a lot of problems and fights. In the future I would like to live in a quiet place and visit my siblings and friends all around the world.
Hello, my name is Lisa He. I was born in Hong Kong and although I have lived there for 12 years, I still cannot speak Cantonese, which is the main spoken language in HK. My mum is Japanese and even though my dad is Chinese, I can't speak Chinese. I came to HIS because my parents thought that I should learn more about the Japanese culture since I am half Japanese. My mum is from Hokkaido so I moved here and since HIS is the only English school in Hokkaido, I had no choice but to go to HIS.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite subject is probably P.E, music or any other subject that does not require thinking because I get really frustrated when I have to think for a long time. My subjects of dislike are science, history and especially Geometry which I totally did not get at the first class of the year which was today. Geometry is probably going to be a mass of confusion for me.
In my free time, I love reading novels. However, I hate reading Non-fictions because they bore me with all the real-life facts. I play two instruments: the piano and the clarinet. My future dream is to travel all around the world and experience a lot of things. Although I would really like to fulfil this dream, I do not think it can be my job.
My name is Nana Tabata and I'm in 8th grade. I was born here in Sapporo, and I'm full Japanese. I've in this school since kindergarten. I'm not sure why my parents put me in HIS, probably it's because my older brothers went to this school.
ReplyDeleteI don't hate History or Literature but, I'm not much of a language person. I'm more creative. Even though I took Choir last year, I'm enjoying Art very much, since I love drawing. I personally think Math is my strongest subject. I like to be in a situation where anything can go wrong and you have to analyze every step to get the right answer.
I like to dance. Dancing can take me anywhere. There has been numerous occasions where I've gone to a dance practice angry or sad and I come out and none of that ever happened. And I just think it's really cool how you get to learn to use your body like that. As I said I love drawing/designing. My dream is to become a fashion designer.
Hello my name is Grace Watanabe and Im in 7th grade. I was born is Canada and this is my 4th year being in Japan. I came to HIS because I didn't know Japanese until I was in 3rd grade. I thought being in HIS would be a very nice place to study so I decided to stay at HIS.
ReplyDeleteI like all the subjects but my weakest subject is science, math and literature. I like singing and listening to music, but I don't have a great voice. I am very interested to learn about history and literature because learning about the past is interesting but also literature is one of my weak points so I want to improve it.
I like reading books when Im bored. My favorite sport is volleyball. Most of the time Im quiet but in front of my friends I talk alot. When I grow up I have lots of dreams but I want to be a teacher in the future.
I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and went to Kahala Elementary from first grade to fifth grade. Then I moved to Hokkaido, Japan, where I live right now. I came to HIS when I was in fifth grade, around April so nearly the end of school. My parents decided to move to Japan because of my dad’s work but my mom, my sister, and I came to Hokkaido because Tokyo weren’t a nice place to start off, living in a place with many people, with different language.
ReplyDeleteObviously, I’m not really into school work but I like to go to school and chill out with my friends. Last year, my favorite class was literature with Mr. Wilson cause he was arctic with students and he treated us like he’s friend, joking and laughing all the time. I do not have a subject that I dislike but I’m not really good at english and sometimes have trouble with math.
I ski jump at a mountain beneath Ookura Mt. Im not much good as the professionals but I enjoy ski jumping with my friends. I also like to party with with my peeps and hangout on the weekends.
Hi, my name is Mastura Mahzan and I'm in 8th Grade. I was born in Malaysia and I've been to HIS for 4 year, but I'm gonna live this school next year in March(2011). I have one brother which is Irfan Mahzan and I have one sister which already graduate last year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is mostly Math. I kind of don't like Literature because last year it was kind of my score didn't get well enough, so I will try my good job in this class. Oh yeah, also I like music, but I'm not good at it.
I didn't have anything that I'm good at. When I was grown up, I was planning to be a Doctor or Singer but I'm not that good and I will try my best to do it.
Hi, my name is Claudio, and I'm in 9th grade at HIS. For my entire life, I've done a lot of moving. After living in Maryland for the first six years of my life, I moved to Japan, staying in Yokohama for one year, then moving to Tokyo for another three. My dad works for the US state department, in the foreign service. Anyhow, after our post in Japan, I moved to Trinidad and Tobago, a twin island nation in the West Indies. After living there for 3 years, my dad managed to get another post in Japan. We took another year in Yokohama for his language training. Then we moved to Sapporo, and here I am. I should be staying here for about 4 more years.
ReplyDeleteAcademically, I'd say that I'm stable. I'm not a star or anything, but I try to give my 100% effort at all times, no matter what subject. If I could have a favorite subject, it would probably be english, or literature. I love to read, my favorite book being The Catcher in the Rye. I also love to write, but I don't write that much in my free time. My least favorite subject would probably be math. I find it quite boring, and I hate how some people can get so uptight about it.
I'd say my favorite thing to do is to listen to Green Day all day, and talk to my old friends on Skype. But, I also like to play basketball, and hopefully I'll get better at it this year. I also snowboard a little, but I'm not so good, but seeing how I am now in Sapporo, and I live right next to a mountain, I'll probably get a whole lot better.
My name is Lisa Tashiro and I am a 7th grader. I moved here from Hawaii when I was in 4th grade which was 2 years ago. We were going to Tokyo but we came to Hokkaido because Tokyo is very crowded. So we thought it is better for us to live here.My parents thought I should go to H.I.S. to learn more english so my brother and I decided to go to H.I.S.
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't do well in class, I practically like all the subjects. So I don't have any strongest subject but the weakest is History. I kind of hate math too. Also, my favorite class is Spanish.
What I like to do is Ski Jump. I practice 4 times a week but I like to play with my friends. In the future I would want to be a Ski Jumper and go to the Olympics.
Hi my name is Isshin Midorikawa and I'm in 7th grade. I was born in Sapporo, and stayed right here my whole life. My father is half Chinese, and my mother is Japanese so that leads me to quarter chinese. I have been at HIS from kindergarten, and when I was in 3rd grade, I started to go to school with my annoying, ANNOYING brother.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is Physical Education, and KINDA math. I'm terribly sorry, Mr. Owain, that World Literature is NOT my favorite subjects...
My least favorite subject is Choir, cuz I HATE singing. But, I just love listening to those HEAVY, LOUD songs.
I used to play baseball, which I quit last year, but I think I still have the skills. My hobby is to skateboard, play my guitar, and play games. My future is to have a job for computer graphics, and design new games. I hope you learned something from me from these few paragraphs.
Hello. My name is Lyu HIroyama. I'm a 7th grader, born in Japan, Saga. Then, I moved to Chiba, than to Sapporo. As soon as I moved into Sapporo I went in to HIS from Kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is P.E. and geology. I dislike math, literature, music, and music theater. But I would like to be better at it if I can.
I like to ride the bicicle with my friends... I used to do Karate but i wasn't enjoying so i quitted. For right now I would like to be a person who trades and sells on internet.
My name is Katarina Kurosawa and I'm in 7th grade.I was born in Memuro, but moved to Sapporo when I was a 1st grader. My Dad is Japanese, and my mom is Ukrainian. I started H.I.S. because my parents wanted me to learn English.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much like all the subjects at school, but I especially like art and math. I don't really like subjects that I have to sing.
I like to draw, ride my unicycle, and talk to my friends. My future dream is to travel to different places with my friends.
My name is Shiori Hishinuma, in 9th grade. I was born in Sydney in Australia and I came to this school in first grade. The reason I came to this school is because my family thought this school had the same environment as the school in Australia.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is math and japanese. I'm not really good at history. It is because even I try to memorize each historical person, I can't remember. And its also sometimes complicating.
I like to read books, listen to music and sing. I have started playing volleyball, and I am interested in playing. And I wish to get better at it. In the future, I would like to work at a airline company, and live peacefully.
Hi I'm Suzu Hiroyama. I'm a 9th grader and this is my 8th year in HIS. I was born in Saga, Japan. I am a quarter of Brazilian/Japanese, (that makes me somewhat "international") and I think that is why my parents put me in this school. I am hoping that I am able to stay at HIS till I graduate, but unfortunately my parents wants to put me in japanese high school.
ReplyDeleteI think I enjoy PE and Choir the most. I do not have a flexible body, and plus it takes me forever to finish a mile run. But I just enjoy moving around and playing sports. I like playing baseball and basketball. So it kind of depends, when its time for playing sports in PE, I enjoy it alot, but when it comes to Gymnastics and Mile runs, I just hate to go to PE class. Although I am not taking Choir this year, I really enjoyed choir class last year and the year before. Because of the "system change" I was not able to join choir, but I just really enjoy singing. It is just so much better than being seated and moving your pen for 80 minutes. You see, I do not like subjects that requires my head. It's just too hard for me.
What I really enjoy doing is just laying down, relaxing, reading books/magazines while listening to musics. On school days I do not have time to do that because of the naughty homework, but then I enjoy staying in my room all day for sundays. You see, I guess I am a lazy kind of person. But I do put effort on my work. For the future, I wish I will become a Missoula teacher, and teach kids music and theater all around the world.
My name is Catherine Li-lin. This is my first year here in Sapporo, but I’ve lived in Osaka before for six years about four years ago. I went back to Taiwan and now I'm in Japan again. I'm here because of my dad's job, he's a diplomat so we move around a lot, but since my mom wanted me to have a western kind of education, I came to HIS. And I guess I'm going to fall behind a lot if I went to a Japanese school anyway.
ReplyDeleteI've marked math as the number one subject I hate since elementary school. I don't like it because I'm just no good with numbers. I like history and reading though. The other subjects I don't love nor hate.
I have played the piano for about ten years now, and I really enjoy it as one of my hobbies. I also like going on YouTube to watch videos or listen to music. I love drawing as well. I'm still figuring out what to do with my future, but hopefully I’ll graduate from a nice college and maybe travel around the world someday.
Hello, my name is Basera Ghulam. I’m in the 7th grade. I’m from Afghanistan, but I was born in Pakistan. I stayed there for 2 years, and moved to Japan. I attended to Japanese school for 4 years. When I was in the 4th grade, I moved to Dubai. There, I repeated the 4th grade again, because of the language. Last year, I came back and my parents decided that we should study at HIS, to get better at English. And the reason why we live in Japan is, because my father works in Sapporo.
ReplyDeleteThe subjects that I enjoy a lot are Math and Art. I love to draw and specially designing jewelleries. I dislike Literature and Science, I don’t like thinking a lot about these subjects. The reason I don’t like Literature is because there’re so many difficult words.
I love to play volley ball and sing, but not in front of the people. These days I’ve got a new hobby, which is designing and recycling my old clothes. In the future, same as my sister, I want to be a designer.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Rina Dishman, and I am in 9th grader at HIS. I have been at this school for most of my school career, and this year will be my 11th year here. I was born in Sapporo and have lived here my whole life. My parents wanted me to be able to have an education in english, so I was put in this school since I was a preschooler.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that my interests at school are math and history, and literature as well. Basically, I don't really have a subject I dislike, although this year I would really like to progress in Spanish. I would say that up to this point, my grades are on the fairly stable side.
In my own personal time, I like to ski in the winter, since Hokkaido is a great place for winter sports, but despite that, I'm not such an active person. I love talking to my friends over the phone and keeping up with my social life, as well as a lot of other things like photography, piano-playing, listening to music and a lot more. My dream in life is to be able to travel around the world to see things I wouldn't see more than once in a lifetime. My own personal goal right now is to graduate from a great university and have a job that is associated with international service, or a career in the political branch.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Shannen Romero Perez, and as you can tell by my name, I am clearly not full Japanese. I am half Mexican and half Japanese and was born in Nagoya, Japan. At age 8, I moved overseas for the first time to Scotland, where I stayed for around 3 years of my life, then I continued to move to my second overseas "home" situated in Canada, where I stayed for about a year and a half. I've moved to several cities due to the career path my dad has chosen and currently, HIS is my 13th school. I came to HIS towards the end of my seventh grade year, therefore I have been here for a good year or so. I am at HIS because of my upbringing in english, therefore I am more comfortable in an English environment, both academically and socially.
ReplyDeleteAcademically, I do fairly well, and although I do have my likes and dislikes, I can promise to always do my best and to give 120% effort in any subject. My likes, subject wise, is anything related to writing or reading. If I had to choose what my strongest subjects are, they would be Literature and History due to my interest in reading and writing. My weakest subject is probably in Choir, where I would have to sing, which is torture for both me and probably my fellow classmates' ears.
For my hobbies, I of course like to be constantly surrounded by my closest friends, like anyone my age and to constantly have fun and talk...maybe sometimes during class and I apologize in advance. To people, I am probably most well known for being very loud and constantly laughing and many times sarcastic, to a point. I enjoy playing both soccer and badminton and also like to occasionally paint and draw, although my skills are no where near good enough to pursue it as my career. Due to my interests in Psychology, I would like to take Psychology as my major in University and possibly get my masters degree to further support my dream of being a Psychologist.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Seonji,in 8th grade. I was born in Korea, and I am onlychild. I came to Japan because of my mom's job and I come back to Korea next March. I've been HIS for 6 monthes.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is art and math. When I got a freetime, I choose some topics randomly and draw pictures with pens. Math is kind of the medicine for me. When I solving math problems, I can forget any stresses or sad things. Bur, I don't really like literature.
My hobby is playing music instruments. In Korea, I was in the band of my school and church's Orchestra. I did usually Baritone, Saxophone, Violin, and Drum. I want to keep do this for my hobby.

My name is Ifumi Sato. I am a 9th grader. I was born in Japan but my father came from Hong Kong so I am half Japanese and half Hong Kong. I came to HIS because the school I was going before wasn't big enough and I wanted to live at a place where the skiing ground is close.
ReplyDeleteI'm not good at studying and my favorite subject is PE which is easier than other classes. So my literature and history grades were bad last year. Although it got better than the first semester of 8th grade.
I like to play computer games and watch a short movies that are funny. So that is why I am lazy. I am thinking that I want to be a driver of a train but I'm not sure what I am doing in the future yet.
Hi my name is Huyuto and most people call me Hugh. I'm in the 8th grade. I was born in the US, CA, and i came to hokkaido when i was 5. I came to HIS because at that time, I was not able to speak english. Why i came to sapporo is because my grandparents lived here and my parents thought sapporo is a good place to grow and live.
ReplyDeleteMy academic level is pretty different depending on subjects. I do good in science and math because it was subjects that i learned from a long time ago and I still do and i pretty enjoy it. But i do not do good in history. Last year literature, I did not do good but this year i am hoping i can do better and will be able to have a higher grade.
On the weekends i do hockey for atleast 2 hours. I'm in a team called the "stars" which is a weak team. I started playing hockey when i was in 4th grade. I started because I saw the movie "Mighty Ducks" I also like ro spend time in Mcdonalds. I sometimes get in trouble but spending tine with friends and talking loudly at Mac is the most enjoyable thing for me.
Hi My name is Han and most people call me Han. I'm in the 9th grade. I was born in Korea and I came to Hokkaido when I was 12. I came to Sapporo because my dad is consul of Korea.
ReplyDeleteMy academic goal is pretty different depending on subjects. And I'm good in PE and math. Last year literature, I did not do pretty good but this year i am hoping i can do better and will be able to have a higher grade than last year.
On the weekends i do basketball for fun. I started because i wanted to grow and be cool like others who play basketball. Thank u for listening. Mr. Phillips

Hi my name is Do Won Yoo. I"m in 7th grade. I was born in Seoul, Korea and I came to HOkkaido 1 month ago. I came to Sapporo because my dad wanted me to.
ReplyDeleteMy academic goal is pretty different depending on subjects. And i''m good in PE. By the way, last year literature, i did not do pretty good but this year i will try my best and hoping that i can do better and will bbe able to have better score than last year.
On the weekends i play ping pong for fun. I started because I thought it would be fun to play. Thank you for listening.

Hi,I'm Alina and I'm in 8th grade right now. I was born in Russia, but when I was 2 years old I lived in Japan for about 2 years. After that I came back to Russia and stayed there until 5th grade. I'm attending HIS since 6th grade, so this is my 3rd year going to this school.
ReplyDeleteSince English is my my second language, it is still pretty hard for me to write essays, even though I graduated ESL,so I think Literature is my weakest subject. I like math the most, it's sometimes not easy but I enjoy going to Algebra class.I'm not an artistic or creative person, that's why I like exact subjects such as math and science.
My goal right now is to study hard and go to a good boarding school in America, because I don't really like Hokkaido. My favorite thing is to travel all around the world. I have only been to 7 countries now, but I hope to go to other places recently. I'm a type of person who is getting bored of doing same things every day, that's why I always need something new to happen in my life!
Hi my name is Kyong Yong Kim from Korea in 8th grade. I came to HIS two and half years ago. My dad works in Koreanair and my dad was told to work in Japan for 4 years so that's why I'm in HIS. I chose to come to HIS instead of Japanese school because in Korea if you don't speak English you fail in society and you most likely can't get a job.
ReplyDeleteIf I grade myself in academic way, I will give D. Because I had a friendship problem in Korea when I was young and I was always alone, somehow being quiet and being alone became comfortable for me. So my biggest weakness in academic life is being in group and speaking outloud. My strong part is grades. I satisfy with my grades.
I like being active, PE and Choir. Other subjects are fine for me, except for History class which contains a lot of group work.
I like sports a lot, especially sports that need a lot of body contact and strength. I also like to sing. Simply I just like everything except for things that we need brainstorming. Firstly, I'm interested in girls, and secondly I put my most of attention on my grades. What do I want to do? Umm.. My dreams change everyday. Today, I want to be a pro basketball player, or a pro golfer.
Hi, my name is Kana and i'm fully Japan. I was born in Okinawa but moved to France when i was 8 and lived there for about 5 or 6 years. Then I came back to Japan because my dad is a writer and preferred working in Japan. I came to His last year and my parents put me in this school because I had almost no skills in japanese except for speaking and a little bit of reading and they thought that it would be too difficult for me if i go to a normal japanese school. Also another reason was that I started learning english in France and they thought that learning this language will help me in the future getting jobs and doing things i like. And I actually thank them a lot because I met awesome people here.
ReplyDeleteMy academic level isn't that bad but it is not that amazing. And I have to admit that my English skills aren't satisfying even though it doesn't really affect my grades. For me, Science is the worst subject because it doesn't interest me at all. But i like History and Literature pretty much because I enjoy reading books.
I like music a lot even though I'm not really good at it but just listening to them relaxes me. I also like to draw but there's a lot of artists in this school who are way better than me. Spending time with my friends makes me feel really comfortable and i can forget all the stress I have.
If someone asks me right now, what I want to do in future, i won't be able to answer. I would like to work on something I like, and that would probably be a job making things or helping other people. And when I get older I would like to keep on visiting other countries that are unknown for me because I've been traveling since I was little and discovering other countries' cultures interests me alot.
My name is Hyun Ryung Yoo. I am from korea and the reason I came here is because of my father's job. I came to Japan 2 years ago. My goal in HIS is learn English of course and if I can Japanese too but I am still having problem with my English skill. Also I have another goal. It's 'become a best player' in every sports.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about this school is size of school. Most of people think that big school is better than a small school but I don't think like that because there is not much students for that teachers can take care of students more. And I also like sports team in HIS because there is not much players but as much we need more players we have to practice and play harder.
My favorite class is obviously PE. As I said I want to become a best player in every sports. But it's not like I gave up on study or something. But also it's not like I love math or science but yeah I would do it to live.
Hi, my name is Megumi Allison but please call me Meg. I’m in the 7th grade this year. I am Half Japanese and half American. I was born in Sapporo and lived in Japan mostly all my life. I came to HIS in the 4th grade mostly because my parents wanted me to learn English.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is P.E, Art, and sometimes Math. I also like to read too. I am not that good at literature but would like to improve on it. Also, I do not like singing, even though I like music.
In my spare time I like to many things such as reading, drawing, or other things. In the future I would like to be a designer or a interpreter.
Hi Mr. Phillips. Sorry that I'm late.
ReplyDeleteThis is Max Koga.
I am from Japan but I am also Canadian.
At school I like Choir, Musical Theater, P.E. Math and Lit. but I don't like science and history. I like to do Ad Hoc with Mr. P and am going to go on the trip next weekend. I wanted to go sea kayaking but the trip was cancelled.
After school I like to do soccer. I go ski jumping four days a week and am training hard.
I'm going to work hard this year.

My name is Anna Ishii, and I am in 7th grade. I was born in Sapporo, and I am fully Japanese. I am a student of this school since Preschool, and this year it is my 9th year in Hokkaido International School. When I entered here almost anyone, including children who is full Japanese, was able to be a student of HIS, and according to my mother I entered here just because there was an adverstment on a magazine and because the preschool near my house didn't let me in until I was older. I sometimes wish I was an student of an normal school, but I like HIS and I cannot enter Japanese schools now because I can't write Kanjis.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject is mathmatics, but I dislike PE and science because I am not good at them at all. I took Spanish, Computer Applications, and Choir this year.
After school I go to my tennis lesson, but I hate it because other people taking the same tennis lesson hates me since I am a student of an special school. I do not speak English nor Japanese well and I dislike students from other school as well. I would like to be a photographer or a journalist in the future.
I am sure I would get 0 on this and I am really sorry I didn't notice this blog until now, but I feel bad not posting at all.
